From High Tech to Soulful Coaching: Miranda’s Journey of Redesigning Life

Miranda’s story is one of radical self-trust, creativity, and career reinvention. Hailing from South Dakota and forged in the fast-paced world of Seattle’s tech scene, she spent nearly two decades designing digital experiences for startups and tech giants like Amazon, Microsoft, and Salesforce. But behind her impressive LinkedIn was a creative spirit and empathic mind yearning for more meaningful connections and purpose, and that’s why Miranda became a Life Design and Mindset Coach.

Now, as a Life Design and Mindset Coach, Miranda travels the world helping people align their careers, relationships, and creative expression with their inner truth. She’s also an abstract painter, world traveler, and occasional lounge singer. At Palma Coliving, she brings her warm presence and coaching wisdom to the community — embodying what it truly means to design a life you love.

Breaking Free from Burnout — Why Miranda Left Corporate Life

After years in product design and management, Miranda hit a wall. Opening her laptop to check Slack began to feel like lifting a boulder. Despite her objectively “great” job — good pay, work-life balance, and a supportive team — something was missing.

“I just could no longer pretend to care about things I didn’t authentically care about,” she says.

She made a bold decision: she quit her job, gave up her apartment in Seattle, sold most of her belongings, and booked a one-way ticket to Bali. But it wasn’t a reckless leap — it was an intentional act to embark on an experiment to fall back in love with life.

Coaching With Heart — The Work Miranda Does Today

Miranda’s coaching work centers on mindset — the beliefs we carry that shape how we show up in life. Her clients come to her for career transitions, creative block breakthroughs, and love-life transformations.

Here’s how Miranda can help as a Life Design and Mindset Coach:

  • Career Confidence & Clarity – From negotiating raises to changing industries, she helps people stop playing small and find dream jobs where they feel valued, respected, and engaged.
  • Creative Project Launches – She guides clients through procrastination, perfectionism, and fear of judgment to bring their artistic visions to life.
  • Love & Relationships – Especially after heartbreak or burnout, she helps people reconnect with hope, honesty, and emotional resilience to find healthy and values-aligned relationships.
  • Life Design — Helping people get clarity one what fulfilment really looks like for them and navigate big life changes like moving, shifting identities, or making the most of retirement or a sabbatical.

Using tools like EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique), IFS (Parts Work), and deep belief rewiring, Miranda combines science-backed frameworks with soulful support.

“Your beliefs are your filters. If you want to evolve, systematically change what you believe and expect. When you expect success, positivity, and love, you’re more brave, you feel safe to take risks, you spend less time on what’s not aligned. Through this process, the opportunities you can access in life just keep getting broader and broader, and this extends to every area of life — love, career, travel, creativity. What’s possible for you changes exponentially when you take ownership of your mindset and expand your expectations and self-worth.”

A Creative Soul on the Move

When she’s not coaching, Miranda continues exploring her creative passions. She’s studied Blue Pottery in India, jewelry making in Bali, abstract painting in Sedona, and this summer, she’s doing a studio arts and art therapy program in Barcelona.

Even her birthdays are creative productions — for her 36th, she hosted a film festival party where guests had to submit short films to attend!

A Message for Fellow Seekers

If you’re standing at the edge of a big life transition, Miranda’s story is a reminder that fear and freedom often walk hand-in-hand.

“We don’t have unlimited time here. Ask yourself — why am I here? Like personally, based on my values, why am I here? Is it to access a continual stream of safety and consistency even if that means some parts of have to fake it, wonder what if, and sit on the sidelines? Am I here to stay in the expected, or am I willing to have an adventure, to take chances on myself, and see how full, authentic, and joyful a life I can create?”

At Palma Coliving, Miranda found a home base that mirrors her values — community, curiosity, and courage. And she offers her coaching magic to help others do the same.

The Inherent Challenges of Change

Change is never just a one-time decision—it’s a continuous process of unlearning, experimenting, and choosing to trust the unknown. For many, even when the desire for a new path is strong, the pull of comfort and old routines can be even stronger. The following reflection beautifully captures that tension, and the courage it takes to keep choosing growth:

“There were many points over the last two years where the temptation to return to my previous life was there. I had to really actively work on expanding my own beliefs the way I work with clients to double down on the expectation that my life can be even more joyful and fully me than it’s ever been and that the challenges of facing the unknown, learning new skills in my business, and redefining how I access friendships and community were all worthwhile challenges to face.
Ultimately, I realized that change takes courage, experimentation, and resilience. I’ve grown to really love the whole process, find peace in letting the future unfold, and I’m so grateful I took a chance on myself and the life I imagined for my future. I’m truly so giddy about my life these days and I feel it’s so authentic to who I am on all levels.”

This honest reflection captures the raw and often uncomfortable reality of personal transformation. It’s not linear, and it doesn’t always feel empowering in the moment. But through conscious effort, vulnerability, and unwavering commitment to growth, she not only embraced change—she made it her home. Her journey reminds us that choosing authenticity over familiarity isn’t easy, but it’s worth it.
